RANGE 3 (Rimfire, Handgun and Bianchi)

NOTE: When the main entrance gate is open, the range is active.  Expect firearms to be in use. Exercise caution.

Each range (except Range 1) has a specific advance warning system, which must be deployed when the range is in use.

Description:

Handgun / .22 calibre rifle range / Bianchi Mover

 Range Safety Protocols

  • The normal and usual use of this range will be restricted to PPC, Silhouette and Bianchi shooting only.
  • Wear eye and ear protection.
  • All firing must be done from under the covered firing line.  
  • In addition to muzzle direction always being down range, the muzzle must always be kept relatively parallel to the ground.
  • All materials capable of producing ricochets on the range(steel target stands, steel reactive targets, bowling pins, etc) must be contained within a wooden enclosure.
  • All posted targets must be posted on the available target boards only (not on the posts, rubber mats or the wooden enclosures housing the steel targets).
  • Use approved targets only (NOT rocks, NOT golf balls, NOT television sets, NOT doors, NOT buildings, etc).
  • Always pick up your live rounds and take them away with you.

Advance Warning System

RED light above entrance to covered firing line.

  • ON means an active firing line
  • OFF means firing has ceased 

No. Firing Points:

7 Firing Distances: 7, 15, 25 and 50 m (PPC), & 50, 60, 77 & 100 m (Silhouette)

Approved Firearms:

All rimfire rifles and all handguns (center-fire or rim fire)(In exceptional circumstances, the use of other firearms may be allowed on this range and must be pre-approved by the Range Operator).

Approved Targets:

  • PPC - paper targets
  • 22 calibre rifle - only silhouette and steel reactive targets
NOTE: The rubber barriers are there to protect the range equipment they are not for mounting targets.


Approved Ammunition:

Full Metal Jacket, Soft Point, and lead bullets - No incendiary, tracer or armour piercing bullet designs
